There was a soft LUD on my I-485 on 01/01 and today (01/02). I had applied for my H1 extension sometime back.Will my 485 be touched because of H1 ? My PD is Aug 2006 EB2(obviously cant expect AOS getting processed at this time).

With GC process bound to take long, staying at the same place to avoid changing address may be a big challenge.
Has anybody considered using PO box for address on I-485? My lawyer did not allow me to use PO box during July 2 filing.
Will it be possible to go online and change to PO box address for I-485?
Does INS has any issues in sending GC to po box address?
I don't think that's possible. USCIS wants a physical address where you stay and will not deliver mail to PO box. In fact there is no forwarding of documents sent by USCIS too. They are all returned to USCIS.
This issue I think originates from the fact that USCIS wants to know where all aliens are physically staying.
I wanted to have a PO box to avoid any issues with mail theft and my lawyer said its not possible.
Anything different coming from your lawyer would be welcome.

Haitians might be eligible for TPS (Temporary protected status) because of the recent earth quake. Not sure if this applies for people already in USA or not.
Try exploring that. Like Madan said, you would need to be a citizen if you want to sponsor her GC.

My date will be current from September 1st. Is it okay to travel to India on a short trip while the date is current? If 485 gets approved while I am india, can I still come back on advance parole?

Dont you need the FP notice to even enter that building, the guard or the cop standing will not even let you in, if you dont have the FP call for notice.

Once H1B is expired; one cannot renew the H1B inspite of 485 under pending. Expired EAD can be renewed but not the H1B.

Some where I read that there is no fee for renewal of AP. I am a Jul 07 filer and am not sure about this. Further already applied last for Advance parole and travelled till it got expired last month. I am applying for a new one again. So just wanted to know if I need to pay the fees $305.
So my questions are:
Does the July 07 filers need to send the cheque for $305
Should we also include Biometric fee of $80?
And how much time is it taking these days for AP/

If you paid less than $400 ( I do not remeber the exact I-485 fees prior to the increase), then you need to pay for the Ap and EAD, the respective amount. If you paid more than $900 for your I-485 filing, then go file AP and EAD as much as you want.
For either case, you do not have to pay for the biometric. Biometric is only for EAD. Not for AP.
AP takes roughly 45 days.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I would think if you are staying at the same place with the same company shouldn't be an issue as long as you stay in the same department.
e.g. if you start in IT as an engineer and then during the GC process you change to a managerial role this should be o.k.
But it you shift from IT to sales with the same salary there would be an issue.

Assuming there are atleast 300K Indians waiting for visa numbers in the EB2 + EB3 category (including dependents) and 6726 out of them were covered last year, we will have to wait for just another 44 years and 7 months to get an immigrant visa number. LOL
