So what you're saying is: Clone my current Mac OS X 10.6 drive then boot Mac OS X from there? And while I'm booting off of my Mac OS X drive, then I install Boot Camp from there right?
Thanks for the info too. :D

I disagree with you on that. Kanye isn't trying to imitate the greats that came before him. He has a completely different style that is unlike anyone I can think of. IMO, he is one of the most original rappers out there.
I hear you, I didn't mean pale imitation as in "to imitate", I just think he is like hip-hop "Lite" or the "Light Edition" version. IMO he lacks real content and depth, contentwise he can't touch the greats who have come before him. He is just too crossover Top 40 for my taste, if it wasn't for all the guest appearances by other artists on his albums, I don't think they would be half as good as they are...Just my opinion...

A quick question regarding the new Home Share feature in itunes.
I have updated my iPad to the 4.3 software and I can now stream vinyl rips from my macbook to the iPad which won't transfer via syncing. The albums are all 24bit/96khz so I'm wondering if anyone knows what they are being compressed to using home share.
Thanks for your help.

QuickTime now 64-bit!!!
Even more of a reason to get the new MBP:D
Hmm, I wonder what the point of 64bit quicktime is. The notes did say that 64 bit mode has more registers available... that doesn't necessarily mean speed improvement if quicktime is moving a lot of data around (which it is).
But I guess everything is slowly going to move towards 64 bit.

More info required: When you scroll to the bottom of the Cydia front page, what does the version number say? 1.0.3222-73? And are the apps you got in Cydia still there? Can you add a repository to Cydia? Do you have iFile and SSH? And you aren't using any cracked apps, are you?

For training you might want to go through the forum or the apple tech support forum, you'll get to see common issues and how to solve them. Try to think of the question they might ask you, but more importantly, put yourself in a place that you can answer those kind of questions. Think of more general stuff so you have your mind set to respond to precise questions. What is Apple to you? or what ever... Really, you can't think of everything they might ask you and have a canned response, how is that even an interview if you already know what you'll say. Be sharp and don't ********, if you don't know, say you're not sure and make an educated guess.
As for looks, I think you should just go there like you usually look, clean and honest. Be yourself, that's why they're interviewing you.

That is what gaming is ;). Sorry, but uh, gaming is killing time. You really think you do something productive when you game? No, you do something fun that you enjoy in your spare time. And if it isn't your spare time.. then you're going to find it hard to pay your bills in the real world if you are so addicted to gaming you are doing it rather than the stuff you *need* to do (like go to work).
This is a rant, so no comment necessary.
Depends on what you are talking about. RPGS like final fantasy? Sorry, really don't need tactile controls for that. In ways, touch is better cause you don't have to go scrolling for the command you want, you can instantly touch what you want to do.I never mentioned RPGs.
Honestly, we can take your argument further. Your console games suck cause they don't have enough controls like a computer game does. For example try doing a realistic flight sim on a console? Ain't going to happen. You need a lot more ability to do a lot of commands (and quickly, not just scrolling through), something having a keyboard with a lot more ways to have different commands, gives you. I'm actually amazed some one did a decent flight sim (of course it has the same problem as consoles do, but actually if I were on a bigger screen like an iPad, it probably could be better than consoles cause they can just have you touch the controls on the "dashboard" giving you more options to control than a controller with limited buttons. So once again, touch screen is better than a control pad, but only if you have enough real estate on that touch screen).
Not sure why you bring up consoles based on your earlier comment, or did you forget what you wrote? This happens from time to time when you tend to write to much. You lose your train of thought....snip Consoles shouldn't even be discussed in this discussion. That is like comparing apples and oranges, they really have no bearing in this at all.
In any regard, your knowledge of what is possible shows a fundamental lack of imagination. You seem to keep missing the point of more complicated control mechanisms, a gamer does not want to look away from the screen to find a control. Touch screen too often for complicated games has you looking for where the action button is.
Of course, for some games, the controller on a console is better cause you do want some simplicity. And then there are games like racing games where sorry, your controller SUX! I'll take my iphone's tilt control on a racing game over a frikkin d-pad or joy stick. Of course, the best for that is an actual steering wheel and pedals :).
Racing games suck for a non gamer. A controller gives more finite control of the physics of driving.
What type of control is best depends on the game ;). You can't just generalize here and you're being very short sighted if you think the controller is a end all be all and that there aren't things touch screen is better for.
None of which you proved in your counter points. Ask any gamer, any real gamer, what he would prefer Grand Turismo or Forenza.
I'm going to turn this around on you. Mario? Are you frikkin kidding me? Yeah, I am going to compare them both... they're both cheesy little games. What is with some of you people and your Mario love? There are far better games out there. And I hate how Nintendo just does Mario everything. Mario racing cart? Why not Gran Turismo? That's a far better and much more in depth racing game. Even Need for Speed is far better.
Mario is a great party game when you have people over I guess. Nintendo I suppose is good for kiddy games and social games. But honestly, I can't believe you're holding up the Mario name and having some sort of snub about being a real gamer. Mario is as much a time waster as Angry Birds (Which honestly isn't a bad thing, cheesy games that are just fun but you don't have to get into can be fun in their own right. But don't frikkin sit there and tell me I don't like in depth games and use *mario* as your example. Shoot, in general Nintendo isn't better for that really, they're "time wasters" are just in a different format. I would honestly think some one who cares about in depth would be more interested in Xbox or Playstation. I'm sure Nintendo has some but I am sure having a hard time finding any for the Wii my mom gave me).
Damn, you really just don't get gaming. Your comparisons show it. Yes there are better games than the Mario series, but better is subjective. Younger people may not get Metal Gear Solid/Socom/GTA etc. Your dislike or not understanding the popularity of Mario is not relevant. Millions and millions and millions of Mario games sell,. Why? Because people like them. You stand alone and out of the loop. But that's OK. It's you're personal preference.
In regard to Mario Cart specifically, it is one fun game to play alone or with people, especially if you have children. Totally different audience than Gran Turismo. The in depth comment was not used in relation to Mario. You got that mixed up. However, the Mario side scroll and 3D games are in comparison far more in depth and challenging than "Angry Birds." Sorry that is just the way it is.
I thought when you said depth you meant actually having a story and having to get into the game to finish it cause you need to get through all sorts of levels vs. this game is fun to play at any time. Most of Mario isn't something you need to get into for long periods of time, you can pick it up and play for a bit, play with others, have fun, but you aren't really getting into some extended play (I'll give you that Mario RPG had a story, but it still was more cheesy/humorous. I still prefer my Square soft RPGs, and even Breath of Fire IV).
You're guessing what I'm thinking now?
Well.
1. Usually multiplayers require the people run the same system so your scenario wouldn't happen.
That is why I used "if possible". The precedent for multi platform interplay is being set by Steam with PS3, MAC and PC on Portal 2. Maybe you missed my earlier link.
2. I prefer solitary games to multi-player games (I will admit I'm not huge into games like Doom or whatever the equivalent is these days. The only shooting games I like are ones with a good story, usually horror story, like Silent Hill). My favorite games have a story that unveils as you play it, usually those are more solitary games. So I don't really care about playing against others..
That old personal prefrence thing is rearing it's ugly head again. No one cares about what you like.
3. Which makes sense I am not a huge Nintendo fan, it's great more for social and kiddy games. Sony and Microsoft cater more to my kind of games.
I took the libertiy to highlight some key items in red. These indicate the "I"ism of your thinking. Never try to make a point in forum relation to yourself. In this case the I's don't have it.

UK carriers offer this service for just 15 to own-carrier-activated iphones. is this ridiculous price not for cross carrier iphones. coz if this is what O2 had offered me, I would have sent them to fly a kite.
Do US carriers offer a similar unlock service does one always have to go 3rd party.(might as well jailbreak while your at it, to further enjoy your $170 spend)
:apple:Apple should get in this too - after-all it is itunes based [freee money-inhouse]
Guess the usual is evident: Apple produce the best product, and pirates make it even better below the board... :D

Just bring up your 'stroke' commands box and alter the parameters such as dash and gap sizes (you'll find this drastically alters the flow of the line when you change the actual stroke line width).
Its a case of tailoring the 'fit' of the dashes until you are happy.
You can also try different 'corners' within the same commands box.

on the previous post, you can see that I can NO LONGER see the previews of the files. Also the last image is what the .TIFFs looked like when I would go through them in A3, but in the 2nd image I posted, that is what the TIFFs look like, and I am assuming they are importing as a Jpeg+RAW, although I haven't changed any settings, nor did I in A3 on my previous MBP.
The 3rd image is of what it looks like in Preview, and 4th image is of how preview automatically resizes it.
the images posted in this post is what A3 is doing to the TIFF files and how Preview used to open the TIFF files. To get this TIFF to open up "correctly" in Preview, I had to open in ACR and then save as a TIFF. The files size increases from 8-12MB to 33MB, which eats up space quickly.
Any suggestions is greatly appreciated!
BTW, DPP (Canons' software) opens these fine.

oh ya, could someone explain what they mean by "gapless playback"?
When you have songs that merge into each other, e.g., a live CD, or lots of dancey CDs or classical CDs, when playing the songs there is no gap between tracks.
This wasn't as simple a solution as you might think, because the encoding of the music (AAC or MP3) encodes into blocks of data of a certain size, so if your song finishes half way through a block, the rest would be empty. I imagine that the reason iTunes has to go through all of the songs to deal with gapless playback is so that it can find the actual end of the song so it can start the next song seamlessly behind it.

I don't see how raising Bill Gates' personal income tax affects Microsoft as a company though.
It probably wouldn't, but taxing him through the nose doesn't fit with the idea of rewarding success. Perhaps a better approach would be to incentivise charitable donations and working with charitable organisations.

LOL I know but I can't strip the DRM since my iPad isn't jail broken. Either we find someone with 1.0 on a jail broklen iPad or we wait until an iPad 2 jail break comes out for me to upload it.

I gave up using Aperture to manage facebook and flickr images. It was way too slow, and I sometimes had Aperture delete a picture on Flickr after I did some more edits. I'd lose all the comments and favorites it had attached to it, which are part of the fun of posting there. I went back to manually uploading using the Flickr upload program.

I was in a phone with one of the Specialist in the Apple Store and he said there will be no iPad 2s today coming in. I was just calling them to swap my iPad 2. Genius agreed to swap me with the new iPad 2 after my iPad fails.
Just wanting to make sure whether they really dont have stock or maybe the stock is not yet coming in. I phoned about 10 am this morning. Anyone been there today and can clarify me?
Thanks a lot

I apologise if I'm breaking your "rules" but I,m talking about the divide between charity i.e. helping those that are in dire need of help, they receive around 10% of U.S. charitable donations and the self serving tax racket with which the rich provide for them and theirs, the other 90%.In your somewhat confusing posts it appears it's OK to give to your own economic class for selfish reasons but not apparently to vote for a government which will pass legislation favouring your economic class. Incidentally by talking of lower and middle classes you are referring to social class not as should be apparent to most people economic classes. Also please refrain from quoting a romantic novelist in what should be a serious discussion.
I'm an individualist, I don't believe in 'social' classes, and use economic classes in general discourse only because it's useful in political discussion to be able to use generalizations in order to make conversation efficient and worthwhile. I believe individuals in a healthy free market generally determine their own fate.
I'd be interested in hearing more about your 90% vs. 10% numbers. Can you provide sources and clarify your position?
