Was just about to post about the exact same issue as its annoying the heck out of me given that two of my favorite forums are sub-forums. +1 for aesthetics appeal

If this is true I am going to do something I've never done before, and skip an iPhone version.

It's not OS X or Snow Leopard problem.
Never experienced anything you mentioned here.
Sounds like you installed something that messed with the system.

I understand now, I going to save my money and get a Canon 45 TS,
Great lens you'll love it. I only wish the tilt and shift were independent like the 17 & 24.

I have been using macs all of my life. My post is about the WoW effect. Do you think it ever Really fades. I just started using one of our old ibook's and cubes. The ibook is a graphite colored one. The cube has a 17 inch apple screen. When I used to use the ibook I got tired of it but since I started using it again I am still wowing and the cube is just wow. Has anybody ever lost the wow effect and just threw away/ sold there computer after some time of getting a new one. Not selling cause you need the money or want the money. Just because you dislike the computer.

Very nice!
I walk by this one occasionally and wish that I could just buy it.

That's really cool; obviously some Apple fan lives there perhaps. If it lit up at night it'd be great.

I know it is jpeg data because the key in the plist is called "jpegphoto". And what I posted is just the beginning. I shortened it b/c that actual data is very long. Thanks!

Coolbook is the solution.
I had both an 11" ultimate and a 13" ultimate. I preferred the extra screen real estate so I wanted to keep the 13" .... but the fan noise bugged me.
Flash, running windows via VM, photo editing, moving large files all made my 13" roar. (For whatever reason the 11" ran much quieter doing the same tasks.)
I'd read some posts here about Coolbook, I was reluctant to try it ... as a last resort before deciding to give up the 13" I installed it, used the recommend settings found here in this forum and voila my 13" has ran much quieter and cooler since.
I can work in Windows for hours, no fan noise, watch Flash everything.
Very impressed, it allowed me to keep my 13"!

Small Problems...
Along with 100 people I wish we could find a way to move the 'smaller' adds down and stop wasting all of that space!
:(
Tho on some of the adds I have found... Are small... but SOMEHOW then Expand with this weird White Background... for no reason (see pic below)
Also I just noticed... on the about page (http://www.macrumors.com/site.php?mode=about) MacRumors offers reasonable rates for Banners, Buttons, and other custom ads for vendors.
40+10 Makeup and Beauty
Barbie Loves Makeup Doll

I'm a bit curious what the question, and the answer, was... :p
The question was could I buy a Mac Mini and Apple display at different times and still use AppleCare for the both of them and the answer was no, I could not. So I'm just going to wait or just get a cheaper LCD.

i had a hard case before and my ipod fell from my loft bed (not even close to 2 metres), and fell apart and my ipod was dead.
2 metres is over 6'. Normally, phones and mp3 players are dropped from about 3'-4'.
That said, I agree that hard cases aren't the best - they're too rigid. I think either padded silicone or leather provide better protection. I've dropped my iPod in its leather case multiple times (on hardwood, tile, concrete, whatever). The only damage it's every suffered occurred when it slipped out of the case on its way down.

i'm thinking they could be waiting for iOS5 release, or that they really are having a hard time fully jailbreaking iOS 4.3.2.
Either way, I'm kinda bummed. I bought the iPad2 thinking it was already Jailbroken but to my astonishment it is not. :(

Yes, last night a friend who works for AT&T sent me a text and told me pre-orders only 24th-28th and the launch date for first come, first serve is now the 29th:mad: I don't know that this applies to anyone outside of at&t ... but the source is good.. and this sucks!!!!

Comex has gotten it jailbroken on the 14th but it still needs a little refining, it is Untethered not tethered as its userland exploit
Wrong way round - it's userland, therefore WILL be tethered. See explanation here:

I hate how you have to download the entire OS every time there's a small update like this. 666MB for a few bug fixes... Also, what's up with the 666MB? Maybe we should stay away from this update guys lol.
I know. It's insane... Hopefully with iOS 5 we will get some sort of patch system, like on OS X. Makes sense, really.

This is interesting - can anyone confirm that the website didn't do this before?
I'm not sure about before, but I can tell you that it isn't just iphone.org acting this way.
For example, go to http://carbon.com and click on the iTunes tab; it will bring you to http://carbon.com/itunes/.
I don't think it means anything.

But Apple has always walked away from the low margin product -- though the $650-$699 eMacs for education are reaching down quite a bit.
Basically there isn't enough margin in the low end for Apple to sell there -- it's basically a loss-leader and/or break even (if they're lucky) product for the likes of a lot of other companies.
actually, the emacs for education (seeing as my dad is a teacher) are 750$ for a baseline emac. the 600$ ones are only for mass purchases for educational facilities

I'll be there around 3:30, hopefully the line isn't too huge! Thanks for the updates.

Hi,
very new to this, hoping to setup a network between 3 Mac Pros for the purpose of copying video files back and forth.
all three towers are within 30 ft of each other
all three computers get internet via wifi
many of the file transfers will be 1 GB or less, sometimes up to 300 GB.
current procedure is a simple fw800 external that we drop into and drag off of.
looked into gigabit ethernet? would this work? does it need special cables?
can it be running while wifi network is running?
thanks!

What you described is NOT a Panther install CD. Panther comes on 3 disks. Maya said
This is not true, Panther requires only built in USB, Tiger requires built in Firewire, you can install Panther on the original iMac.
you are correct indeed:
http://www.apple.com/macosx/upgrade/requirements.html
I must have gotten it mistaken for another system requirement on Mac OS X. :o
