Just got the MX1000 yesterday on sale.
That one does support OSX, but not sure about MX900.
Haven't really used the MX1000, cept for 5 mins, the grip feels good, seems to track very well, looks damn nice, and seems to be alot better than my old Microsoft Wireless.

It's not up to date, it has the latest firmware you can get without paying. Maybe Apple decided to stop selling 2.x and 3.x and that's why it thinks it's up to date. But you can still obtain the firmware from other places, a quick google should do it.

No, that pic is way pre WW2. That's around WW1 by the looks of it.
Uhhh... The USS Missouri (BB-11) was commissioned in 1900 and decommissioned in 1919. She was part of the Great White Fleet, and had her cage masts fitted somewhere around 1909.
Ship's names get reused, y'know. I'm not talking about the Missouri you're thinking of.

To wipe your data and reinstall OS X: (this is what you'll want to do, so it's set up as if the new owner was buying a brand new mac)
Insert the OS X install disc
boot your mac while holding C
Go to utilities > Disk utility
Select your hard disk in the top left
go to the erase tab
choose Mac OS X Extended (Journalled) and any name you want ("Macintosh HD" is probably preferable)
security options > Zero out data (only if you're paranoid about the new owner being able to recover your data, if not don't bother)
erase
then continue the install process
I dont have the option to go to Utilities. It goes right into OSX install. Should I continue the Mac OSX setup?

XLD (http://tmkk.hp.infoseek.co.jp/xld/index_e.html) is great and my personal favorite.
Definitely have a look at xACT (http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/14246), too.

I love the original and am looking forward to getting my hands on the iPad 2 version, but watching your video raised a concern to me. Every time you even slightly move the iPad, you can hear it turning itself off. It happens constantly. Is the cover not held down by magnets too, and it's just an activator? If this is the case, then it becomes almost a must to use the strap to keep the lid closed.

Thanks again for the reply. The only problem is I only have the pdf files (or the .vsd files) Right now I am just cutting and pasting the text into word and working on the format there, and finally placing in illustrator. It works, but is tedious and my stubborn streak can't leave it alone!
PS now I combined all the individual pdf files into one, just to streamline the cutting and pasting. In trying to past from Preview into word I now get:
which I have quite frequently when I combine several pdf files into one; each file is fine, but when combined the text doesn't transfer. I think this comes from the quartz filter Preview when saving a new pdf document.
Arggg Font problems!!

You mean they haven't already built in Zune functions into their Windows 7 phones??? Microsoft is way behind (their copycat product plans).

I was quite impressed with Microsoft's idea of Photosynth (http://labs.live.com/photosynth/). Apparently it stitches user photo's together and gives a 3D view of a place. Of course a lot of things can be automated if the exact GPS coordinates are known. A GPS enabled camera could provide this and the combination of Google Earth could be just the thing Apple is looking for.

Do you think best buy will have the smart covers? have you asked that?
I am worried if I go to the apple store, they will run out of the size/ color that I want before I get there

I've got an iBook G4 1.2 and use FCP on it. In fact, FCP HD. If you know your way around the FCP's Media Manager, you can compress your DV footage down to something the iBook can handle. It won't look as good, but for straight editing with no effects and so forth, it works terrifically. Then you transfer your edit "file" back to a faster machine (in my case, a G4 dual 533) and do all your uncompressed DV renders in there.
So my answer is this, yes, the iBook can handle FCP if you:
1) Don't use exotic effects -- just straight edits
2) Use Media Manager to compress your DV footage to smaller, faster files
3) Use another, faster machine to handle the full-on rendering of the original, uncompressed footage
Now, having said that, I've used the same technique on an iBook G3 600 ("son of Pismo") with the same great results. On that machine, it TOTALLY maxes out the processor, but it still works.
Hope that helped...

Crap, I don't think I can remove the drm. The app needs to be installed first to crack and I can't install it bc it is linked to coleman's account.

Hi All,
Im deciding on new speakers for my iPod, which will also be streaming music from my Airport Express when not playing music from my iPod.
I can't decide between the Zeppelin Mini, Soundock, or the Companion Speakers.
Can anyone help me decide?

$400-500

The Airport card is great. The CD-ROM isn't.
Ya, $400-500 seems to be a fair value for the iBook G3 in question.

Thank you for the suggestion. Running FSCK came back with non-repairable errors and now the machine won't boot into OS X. So, I'm going to just put a new hard drive in the computer.
Ah, sorry it turned out that way. And yeah, that's indicative of hardware sector failures. Good thing is though that the hard drive is one of the cheapest components to replace that goes bad.
Edit: Good for you keeping a Time Machine Backup :)

What he said...
You mean AppleCare? That's not included, but I can dig-up the purchase date and see if it's still eligible. I didn't purchase Acare because it was too large a percentage of the total cost of the laptop when new and I figured I'd take my chances, knowing that it's not "super expensive" even if I had buy a completely new MB down the road.
Now, the MBP I'm getting to replace this... that might be another story ;)

I can confirm this.

Travelling all the time across Europe, using different carriers (Vodafone,Orange,Movistar,Beeline,Mtel etc.) and never ever have I had a dropped call,so the "antenna issue" is not a concern at all over here...
