Again, the military is inextricable from the economy. Not only are large sectors heavily dependent on military spending (like the town of 150,000 just west of me, that would utterly collapse if its two bases were closed), but a weaker military would risk tremendous losses in international commerce as foreign nations take back control of their own markets and resources absent the pressure of potential American military action.

I voted Negative because we all know Steve is furious that Microsoft is releasing a wireless MP3 player before Apple. The iP$d needs some serious revamping.
What exactly is 'wireless' about this MP3 player? Sharing songs three times doesn't count in my book. There's no wireless syncing, nor wireless connection to my stereo. What's the big deal again?

Is the gapless playback only a feature of the full size pod or does it carry over to the nano too?
I believe that the Nanos can play gapless. I looked on the tech specs page on Apple's site but i don't see it. I could be wrong but i'm pretty sure that the Nanos can play gapless.
As for my opinion on the nanos...
I dislike them. I wasn't fond of the Mini asthetics wise. Durable, for sure. But I just don't find them as nice to look at, and now that the Nanos are the same tacky colors, it's back to the ugliness. I know people were buying up the Minis, I'm just personally not a fan of the styling... If you all want to buy them up go ahead, just count me out :p

I'm guessing he got the MBP before the iPad. And, the 13 inch MBP can do a lot more than an iPad, while being more portable than the 15".

Exactly. The uproar from consumers concerning their scratched iPod video's and nano's last year was pretty loud. Just about everyone who had a new iPod video or nano commented on how easily it scratched or scuffed. Especially considering an iPod video should have a crystal clear image free from scratches, you can bet apple has heard and understands that as well. Whether we'll see metal enclosures, who knows? Regardless, I think it's safe to say the new iteration of the iPod video especially will see scratch resistance improvements.

I hope that this pisses off the studios royally. The sooner we shift to a purely electronic method of distribution, the better everything is.
There's no way that Wal-Mart would stop selling DVDs, and what else could they possibly do? Raise prices?
It's retarded. Wal-Mart won't lose any substantial sum of money if iTunes carries movies from all the major houses. But they will lose tons if they stop selling DVDs.
This just seems really foolish to me. They're not in a good position (for once). Granted, it could hurt the studios for a while, but people want to see movies more than they want to shop at Wal-Mart, methinks.

Just read an article that says black men in London commit more than half of street crimes and gun crimes. They make up only 12% of londons population. These statistics are even higher than in the US and they can't blame slavery and Jim crow laws in London like they love to do here. What is the possible reasoning behind this? Very interesting.

The main thing, sadly, is the lack of positive male role models (most gun crime is committed by black men, so Aunt Jemima wouldn't be suitable for them, not sure about Uncle Ben).
I think it's mainly the fact that they want to emulate the glamour that they see in music videos by their only available role models, and materialists aren't the best role models.

I'm often surprised to meet a new Beatles fan who "inherited" their interest from their parents. And the publicity surrounding an iTunes debut would add to that interest.
I wonder if they'll have a "complete catalog" package?

It sounds like you're hitting a limit at 32,768. That makes sense, since Int16 can only store numbers up to 32,768 (15 bits plus a sign bit) and Apple engineers probably figured that should be more than enough.;)
I hope they change this way of thinking, as I and many others are going past this number and doing so in strides.

Consider yourself lucky that you didn't get one of these. In a couple of months when they're released, think of them as being fixed mbps. Then, grab one and enjoy.

For whom doesn't understand what we are talkin' about: There is a way to enable 4~5 fingers gesture function which is allowed only for developers. Purchase Xcode($4.99) from Mac App Store, install it, connect the iPad to the USB port and Xcode will recognize your iPad and there is a button asks you to use this iPad for development purpose. Click it and it will ask your developer ID but you can simply click cancel, it will anyway continue the procedure to enable the function. After that, go to the preference - general on you iPad, you will get to see the option for the 4~5 fingers gesture. I personally think, it is worth more than $5.

Who cares about Flash? Most of the time it's used, it's because the web designers are too dumb or lazy to get the page right without it, because they haven't kept out with what a modern browser is capable of.

Okay, STOP! before you erase its entire existance off the Adobe corp. servers (and back ups) lol -- take a second and check your email and what's that you find? X hundred? x thousand?? people all crying to you why Flash doesn't work on the iPhone... If I were the man in charge I'd say enough of this crap ... we have an iPhone ready (aka SUPER CRAPTASTC!) version of Flash all packed up and ready to explode err... ready to go and Apple cuts us off?!?!? well &*#&$*( them! I'm not fielding any more nasty grams from people ask ME why its not on their stupid little crappy iPhone ... Lets tell em exactly WHY it's not and be done with the entire mess.

Then how do you turn it off? If it's a feature I should have the option to change it back to how it was. It's pretty annoying and I'm surprised no one else is complaining about it. I understand how some people might like it, but you would think there would be the option to decide which one you want. Similar to changing the rotation lock on the iPad to mute, some liked it and some didn't

It's not a "true" 3D though, as it requires head or device movement to perceive the effect. (Both eyes are actually seeing the same image on the screen.)
