are you people making this all this fuss over C2D MB's coming out? or is there more expected from the update....like the true ipod video? i dont see how a C2D MB could bring so much excitement....there's not THAT much difference in performance.
There might be a few more surprises with the MB as well, like there was with the MBP.

SIRI rocks! The BEST, by far, voice recognition right out of the gate I have EVER tried-it is quite amazing and I wish Apple all the best integrating it-great choice! Put it into a remote control to provide functions- "turn to sports channel" " record this movie" "next, previous" etc.............

And suggesting, or even blatantly stating, that Beatles and Madonna have transcended music more than Bach is about as musically stupid as it comes. Bach not only wrote his own music (Madonna just drops into a studio every now and then), he could also conduct orchestras (the Beatles could do one thing individually; that's why they are called the Fab FOUR), his impact on developing Baroque music is unquestioned and his composition skills and musical knowledge have been admired by the likes of Mozart, Haydn, and Beethoven.

I think what is being referenced is what used to be called "ping-pong stereo," the very wide and complete separation of channels -- which in the Beatles catalog is heard mainly on the Rubber Soul and Revolver albums, the two best they ever made IMO. I'm not a huge Beatles fan, but mess with these recordings at your peril!

Sad part is, as adoption increases...so will viruses/malware/trojans/etc.
Best analogy Ive heard is:
Windows 7 is a house with bars on the windows, and industrial locks on the doors...in Baltimore.
OSX is a house with no locks, in the middle of nowhere.
Viruses and malware target the more gullible of society. These people buy the cheap $300 or under computers. In a way the proliferation of viruses provides an excuse for poor computer performance that distracts from the poor performance of such low quality machines.

It's both sad and sickening to see how many Apple fanboys are elitists who only want Apple products to be sold at upscale stores. Such fanboys want Apple products to be regarded as high-end fashion accessories and status symbols. What a shame that Apple has such a feminized culture associated with it. I miss the days when Apple products were regarded as tools for accomplishing tasks.

I'm just glad they are not trying to run this on the 3G. I can barely keep the phone running as it is. I wish they would come out with a throwback OS for the older phones. Something to stop the constant freezing.

Ditto. My poor 3G is one step away from being an ipod only... I hate that Apple has essentially bricked that phone. Mine is in great shape, but barely works after the 4.0 update. Retro would be ideal.

I work for one of Apple's biggest distributors, we will receive the new products this week ready for shipment next week....so I would say the 12th is about right.
We worked out that there is probably going to be a new nano, as we had to order new, very small, product labels. The rest we will know this week, our product file is updated well in advance but the description is only added at the last moment.

They make all of Nikons sensors, even the high end D3S and D3X dSLRs ones. They also made (or make?) Canon point and shoot sensors; at least as of a few years ago. Sony was one of the first with backlit CMOS as well.
Oh, and I think Pentax, if you want to consider them a camera compay, uses Sony sensors.

I am glad to see Apple put their product anywhere it can to increase sales and get devices into peoples hands. Not every place has an Apple store, or maybe even a Target or Best Buy close by. Well done Apple!

It probably was a typo though, I don't see how iPhone 4 users are complaining, if anything it's the people going to be off contract I.E the 3GS crowd.
Regardless if people want the latest in tech it's their business. I can't wait to upgrade though :p

it seems that there is no longer an option for the "matte" screen, only the glossy one.

Oh come on... wireless ipods make so much sense...think of the iTv,would deffinately go good with a wireless ipod,and a sharing option wouldnt be so bad too.As a uni student the itunes share function was really good for when i wanted to listen to new music that i would have otherwise never listened to.Oh and the whole chick thing...man you have to be pretty lame to try and pull a chick with either of the options lol wireless or wired,tech rarely pulls anything lol

In a way it's rather ironic. When myspace was huge. Some people were defecting to facebook because of all the problems. Myspace allowed you to do and post almost anything. Custom backgrounds, flash, all kinds of HTML. Spam spam spam and more. The result? Slow, clunky pages. Pages that crashed even the toughest browsers and computer with lots of RAM. Phishing SPAM and viruses via messages and pages. Soft core porn and more.
Go to Facebook and you needed to be approved just to join (essentially). You needed a certain email address. Your page can't have graphics and flash. Your name can't be "$h@wn of da d3@d" or whatever. It's similar to an iphone in that way.

I drop calls like mad with AT&T. Wonder if it's about time to head over to Verizon, especially if it starts beating AT&T to the punch with features like these.
I can tell you in San Francisco, a Droid on Verizon is at least 10-100 times better than an iPhone on AT&T.
